About Brooklyn | |
|
|
Brooklyn is a very sweet 1 year old petite rottweiler weighing in at only 55 pounds. Brooklyn is a shy girl and can be timid in new situations. She needs a confident owner who can show her that the world is a safe place and help her overcome her fears. She needs slow introductions to people but once she trusts her human she is the typical loyal "velcro" rottie, wanting to be near you all the time. Due to Brooklyn's shy nature she won't be placed in a home with young children as to not overwhelm her.
Like every young dog, Brooklyn likes to play. She is still getting the hang of playing fetch as well as learning what to do with all the squeaks, crinkles and grunts of stuffed toys. Brooklyn is a low energy dog and not destructive when left alone in the house. She is working hard on getting fully house-trained and should be crated when no one is at home to prevent accidents. When she is outside she is given the command "go potty" and will do her business.
Brooklyn currently lives with four dogs but does need proper introductions when meeting for the first time. She needs to be fed apart from other dogs, or in her crate, since she has displayed some resource guarding behavior with her food as well as toys and her dog bed. No cats for Brooklyn as she shows too much interest in them.
Brooklyn is a very smart girl. She is treat motivated which makes training much easier! She knows some basic commands, such as sit, but will benefit from basic obedience training where she will also gain confidence and build a strong bond with her human. Brooklyn walks well on a leash, is cooperative for bath time and rides well in the car.
