Hi! My name is Nissa and I would love to be your cuddlebug!
I use to belong to a family, but they left me behind when they moved away. When I was found, I was sent to a shelter that thought I was so special that they kept me in the Director's office when space was limited. They reached out to SSRR to save me because they didn't want to have to put me down. My foster mom took me in and she has told me I'm such a good doggie and doesn't know why anyone would ever leave me behind!

My vet says that I am around 10 years old, but don't let that number keep you from considering me! I get around great, love long walks and even run around the yard. I am quiet and very well behaved. I don't get on the furniture, I’m house broken and I don’t chew on anything I'm not supposed to. I live for getting brushed and treats! I know how to sit and walk well on a leash. Everyone who meets me tells me that I am such a good girl. I am a lot of love in a small package. I stand about 2 feet tall from floor to top of my head. Also, my front teeth have been worn away. No one knows what happened, but it doesn't stop me from eating regular food. It does, however, make my tongue  stick out a little sometimes, but my foster mom thinks it's pretty cute!

I don't have any other doggies living with me, but when I am out and about and get barked at, I pay them no attention. I don't pull to get to other dogs and I never bark back. I do have 2 kitten brothers at home that keep me entertained.  I occasionally join them in a game of chase, and like to give them kisses when my foster mom is holding them. I only growl at them if they get too close to my food when I'm eating, but just a little one to let them know it's mine, not theirs. My foster mom can move my bowl around and I don't have a problem with that.

I don't have any human brothers or sisters, but have been around a few little kids and have been nothing but calm when they want to pet me. I give a soft kiss and keep close to get more lovin'. I never jump and never run into people's legs. I like to come over and greet any company, get some head rubs and then I get out of the way so no one trips over me.

I’m heart worm positive and will start treatment soon. I also currently have a little bit of an itchy skin issue, but we are working on that with medication and a change in diet, so hopefully that will be all cleared up soon!

I would make a great addition to your home if you are looking for a loving girl that you won't have to worry about staying home alone or with other animals. I have run of the house (along with my kitty brothers) when my foster parents are at work, but I’m also crate trained. I hope to hear from you soon!

Nissa is heartworm positive. Her treatment is completely covered by SSRR.
