|
Meet the adorable Hogan with the cutest face you’ve probably ever seen. This LITTLE guy is cute as can be and full of energy. At only 35 pounds he is definitely not a Rottweiler, even though he’s part of SSRR. Our best guess is that he may be a German Pinscher / Boxer mix of some kind. Whatever he is, he is going to make some very lucky family a wonderful addition.
Hogan loves to play and is very social. He jumps in out and over to get into the little kiddie pool. Hogan is fond of balls and anything he can play tug with. He has large and small dogs in his foster home as well as cats. Hogan will chase the kitties if they run and has gotten tagged on his nose a couple times, which has not slowed him down. He doesn't have a mean bone in him and does not attempt to hurt the cats. He’s just playing.
Hogan is potty trained as long as he's on a schedule and or you listen to him tell you it’s time to go out. He's quiet in his crate and does need a yummy treat to encourage him to go in on his own. Hogan is still a juvenile and likes to chew on things, so we recommend crating him when no one is home and to watch what he puts in his mouth. When he runs around the yard and plays, he'll remind you of a jack rabbit. He has very good agility and is super fast.
He stands for his bath and promptly rolls after he is finished being bathed. He loves attention and will seek it, but may act like he doesn’t want to be bothered at times and will walk away from his humans attempts at petting. Hogan finds himself right at home laying on the sofa. He thinks it is a game when you tell him to “come” and if you step towards him, Hogan will run in the opposite direction and then look at you as if to say, “come on and catch me.” This guy has the perfect temperament for home with another dog, cat and older kids that won’t be frightened by him playfully mouthing your body parts.
Hogan is leery of strangers when he first meets someone he doesn’t know. He depends a lot on his person to re-assure him that everything is OK. We believe Hogan would do best with someone who has other dogs. If you are looking for a dog that's going to give lots of kisses and affection right from the beginning or jump up in your lap as soon as he meets you, then Hogan is not the dog for you. He needs a bit of time to adjust and trust. We believe he would do best in a family with other dogs since dogs learn best from other dogs.
Hogan is a great size for someone who lives in an apartment or small home but he should have a fenced in yard where he can run and play and get his energy out.
