Hi there! I am Lucie. Are you looking for the perfect puppy?? Look no further because you just found me! Mom gave birth to me and my siblings on April 23rd on a cold floor in a loud, dreary shelter. As soon as SSRR heard about us they reached out to some wonderful local volunteers that quickly got us out of there and into a nice warm home until we could be transported to our foster home.

My foster mom thinks I am mixed with German Shepherd and possibly Lab. Does it really matter? Just look at how beautiful I am even if I do say so myself. I am a typical puppy and LOVE to play with people, toys and other dogs. Did I mention I’m smart also? At 6 weeks old I have mostly mastered the art of going potty where I am suppose to. AND I even answer to my name sometimes. Not an easy thing to do since all 8 of us have similar sounding names ending with ie.

I don't live with children, but since I'm a  puppy and I love to play my foster mom says I will do great with kids. However, please do not apply to adopt me (or any dog) if your kids have not been taught to respect animals.  I am a baby and can be hurt by being picked up by my neck, or dropped, etc.

SSRR is extremely protective of all of our rescues, but in particular we strive to be sure that puppies are raised properly to avoid any future behavior problems. Our puppies will only be adopted to a home where they will get plenty of love and attention, as well as exercise and training—everything that is needed for them to develop into a socialized and well-behaved adult. The adoption donation fee for puppies is $300 and is a tax-deductible donation to SSRR, which is a 501c3.

The puppies are up to date on vaccines and worming. For puppies too young to be spayed/neutered before their adoption, this must be done when age-appropriate (approx. 6 months).  The spaying and neutering of all dogs is a strict requirement of SSRR.  When this surgery has been completed, the adopters of young puppies will be provided a flat fee reimbursement to be applied to the cost of the spay or neuter.
