Are you looking for a running partner? Someone you can take with you on trail runs, outings, adventures? If so, Duchess is the dog for you. This girl has a contagious amount of energy and wakes up every morning just happy to be with you and the fun you are going to have together.

Duchess came to us as a local stray, she was found wandering the highway down by the beach. She was taken in by family who had a toddler and a small dog but they could not keep her (military breed ban prohibited it). She used to go on 5-10 mile trail runs with the husband several times a week and they loved her, she was so good with their daughter, who was just a toddler. She has been with us for about two months and during that time she has gotten up to date on her shots, micro-chipped and spayed. She is now completely ready for her forever home!

She is a very athletic, energetic girl, she is still such a puppy! She adores squeaky balls and will walk around the house with one in her mouth just squeaking it for fun. She is great on a leash, after the initial "Oh My God I'm Going For a Walk!". We have been working on basic commands, heal, sit, stay on lead. She loves to meet other dogs and kids. Her favorite things in the world are tennis balls, if they squeak, she is in heaven! She will walk around the house with the ball in her mouth, occasionally squeaking it just for fun. And, she has been known to fall asleep with it! I take her out to an enclosed field and toss the ball for her, she is always happy to return it and drop it at your feet and wait for you to throw it again.

She is a super sweet girl, full of energy and a big desire to please. She is smart and learns quickly, she has a very big food drive, and will do most anything for a treat! And after a good bit of fun and exercise she is very happy to climb up on the sofa, settle her head in you lap and snuggle. She is also a bit of a bed hog, she is a tall girl and loves to stretch out next to you in bed and spoon! However, she is crate trained and is very happy to spend the night sleeping in her crate.

If Duchess sounds like the girl of your dreams, fill out an adoption application and bring her into your family!
