Paxton is an incredibly sweet one year old male Rottweiler,  with a beautiful coat and is curious about everything around him. He currently weighs 75 pounds and is up to date on vaccines.  He plays with our 2 year old English Cocker Spaniel and is very gentle with her . He was great around a 6yo and 4yo child.  He enjoys being outdoors, likes going for walks and walks well on a leash.

Paxton learns quickly (after watching our male dog bring in the paper for two weeks, he took over the job)  and very food motivated so he is easily trained to follow verbal commands. Currently he knows ‘sit’, ‘give’, “down” and “come”.    He's house and crate trained and kept in his crate at bedtime and if left unattended for a long time.  It wouldn’t be good for Paxton to be left alone for 6-9 hours every day. 

He is fed in his crate so he goes in willingly.  Other times a cookie will do.  We are not sure if he is good with cats buts he gets along with every dog that he meets – small or large .

Overall he has very good manners and behaves well in the house. He does not get up on the furniture.  He responds well to verbal correction.   When not playing, he will follow you around the house and lay at your feet when you stop.  He'd love an active home with dogs who likes to have fun, too.   

His favorite toys are balls and toys that he can retrieve.  When not playing with a toy, he is chewing on his bone (loves antlers).

Paxton is an all around good natured boy.   He has so much potential and a fun loving personality.  All he wants is a loving home and people/dogs to play with.

Step 1:   Please complete the adoption application in full; incomplete applications WILL NOT BE PROCESSED

Step 2:   Our Lead Adoption Coordinator will contact you and confirm your application has been received (please use our Contact Us form if you have not gotten a response within 7 days).

Step 3:   After you have received confirmation from our Lead Adoption Coordinator, your application will then be forwarded to communicate with one of our Adoption Coordinators.  The Adoption Coordinator is your point of contact during the adoption process.  

Step 4:   Once the Adoption Coordinator has finished processing your application, a volunteer will be selected to contact you to schedule a home visit. Home visits allow us to see where the dog will live, discuss any questions you have and review our adoption contract.

Step 5:   Once the application process is completed, the adoption package goes to the board of directors for a 24 hour review.
