About Roxanne | |
|
|
Roxanne came into SSRR from Mount Airy, NC. This poor baby has had a horrific past. She was found as a stray with her back right leg dangling. After being examined by a vet, it was found that she had been shot several times. The bullets had hit her in the leg and tummy. Due to the extent of her injuries, the leg could not be saved and had to be amputated.
Roxanne was given a very small chance at survival. But survive she did, and her come back was better than ever! Being without one leg has not slowed this little girl down at all. There is nothing she can't do! She runs, plays, goes up and down steps, and will dive on the couch if you tell her that's OK. She doesn't like slick floors and slips very easily on them. Even though life has treated her so badly, she is still the sweetest and most trusting girl, and looks at life through puppy like eyes; full of wonder and amazement.
Roxanne would do very well with an active family or person. One of her most favorite things is playing ball. As long as you will throw it, she will go after it! She has an endless supply of energy. Roxanne is a little leery of men at first, but will warm up quickly. Treats help greatly with that. She does great with women and will usually kiss them right on the face almost immediately. She does well with other dogs, and would be bored without a fur brother or sister, but be careful with her around little dogs. Sometimes she mistakes them for toys.
Roxanne is does well on a leash and in cars. She is super smart and learns things very quickly. She does know basic commands and does very well with them, and is crate trained. It is unknown how she is with cats or children. Roxanne would love to be your best friend and your shadow. Look in those eyes....are you the one she is waiting for?!
