Ava is a Rottie mix who is super sweet and affectionate.  She was rescued from a local shelter in SC and is currently in a foster home getting lots of love and attention and awaiting her forever family to come along.

Ava is very gentle and loves to be close to her human.  She is extremely affectionate and likes to give kisses!  She is just now learning what toys are and how much fun it is to run and play with them.  She likes to flip her toys in the air with her nose and catch them and then run in circles to show off!  She enjoys playing with other dogs, so a fur companion would be a plus for her.  She also likes to play with the cat, but is not aggressive in any way.  She has no food aggression and will easily share her food with other dogs and even the cat!  She enjoys snuggling in the bed, but typically sleeps near the front of the house to protect her human.  She only barks when she needs to go outside to take care of her business.

Ava is the perfect companion.  She would benefit from some training to better understand personal space as she always likes to be close.  She tolerates a leash, but could also use some training to teach her to walk better beside her human. Someone that has experience with the breed to spend some time with her would be a huge plus for her.  She is super smart and so eager to learn and please her human.

Ava is Heartworm positive and will go through treatment prior to being available for adoption. We are currently accepting adoption applications, with the understanding that the adoption may take a couple of months to be approved.

Step 1:   Please complete the adoption application in full; incomplete applications WILL NOT BE PROCESSED

Step 2:   Our Lead Adoption Coordinator will contact you and confirm your application has been received (please use our Contact Us form if you have not gotten a response within 7 days).

Step 3:   After you have received confirmation from our Lead Adoption Coordinator, your application will then be forwarded to communicate with one of our Adoption Coordinators.  The Adoption Coordinator is your point of contact during the adoption process.  

Step 4:   Once the Adoption Coordinator has finished processing your application, a volunteer will be selected to contact you to schedule a home visit. Home visits allow us to see where the dog will live, discuss any questions you have and review our adoption contract.

Step 5:   Once the application process is completed, the adoption package goes to the board of directors for a 24 hour review.
