To know Rocky, is to love a sweet, gentle soul. His eyes are deep and kind. If you haven’t seen his video, please do so. You will see how awesome he is. He came to our home heartworm positive (now negative), and while we don’t know his background, we are pretty sure he was a stray or been neglected a long time. He was definitely not an indoor dog. He was house trained in 2 days & no accidents since.  All our dogs have the run of the house and he is well-behaved.

Rocky is non-aggressive and not very assertive. He will bark to scare strangers and strange trucks but if they come through the door, he is a friendly puppy. He plays well with any kind of dog, and has incredible patience with puppies. Because he is a sweetheart, he shouldn’t be with assertive or dominant dogs; it will cause him to withdraw. Same with a family, he needs a calm environment.

Rocky does get carsick quickly; he can’t go more than 4 blocks. We’ve given him Mecizine and he lasted about 10 minutes and got sick. We’re still trying to work with the vet and we want to share this with you. He is also very scared of thunderstorms and given his background, who can blame him. What works for us is giving him a “cave” near us & he is fine.

Rocky needs to be walked every day and if you don’t have other dogs, would recommend trying to find a way wherein he can play with other canines from time to time. He is very playful, alert, and interactive and so he needs that kind of companion/family. He cannot walk for incredibly long distances, and he definitely cannot jog along. So, nice semi-long walk, playing tug of war (gently), and giving him toy puzzles works for him. He loves to be outdoors but is an inside dog. He is a great breakfast/lunch/dinner companion & his favorites are chicken, watermelon, bananas, sometimes carrots, and yogurt. He loves to share beds and isn’t a bed hog. He is very handsome and has a boyish charm. Please contact us for more videos, stories, and answer any questions.
