This big handsome 4 year old boy is Roscoe and he in one incredible boy. Roscoe was someone’s pet and was trained well. He’s one smart boy. The second Roscoe sees you reach for a treat his butt hits the floor and he waits to see what you want him to do. You want him to give you his paw…..no problem…..lay down….yup, he does that one very well. He’ll be happy to shake or give you a high five. He responds to both verbal commands and hand signals.

Roscoe also LOVES people. It doesn’t matter whether their big people, small people, large people or skinny people, as long as you’re a person, he’ll like you. Roscoe lived with three kids, ages 9, 10 and 12 and did very well with them. Roscoe lived with a female dog but didn’t seem to like the male he was tested with at the shelter. Of course, that could have been a result of the shelter and him being stressed.

Roscoe favorite toys are balls and Frisbees. He’ll bark at unfamiliar people when they go by the house but that’s about all he does. With his size, he doesn’t need to do much more. Roscoe likes baths, loves being petted and likes to give hugs. He shows absolutely no aggression with his food or and toys and will allow you to take them out of his mouth.

His former owner said: He loves people and attention, loves baths, likes to run in the yard (so you must have a fenced in yard for him to run it), likes snow, likes to look out the window, does well in a car, doesn’t chew anything in the house that isn’t his, loves to play tug and play with Kongs.

Upon approval to adopt, you will be sent SSRR Decompression and Introduction requirements that we require ALL of our adopters to follow . You will be asked to acknowledge receipt of these requirements, verify that you have read them and that you will follow them.

Step 1:   Please complete the adoption application in full; incomplete applications WILL NOT BE PROCESSED

Step 2:   Our Lead Adoption Coordinator will contact you and confirm your application has been received (please use our Contact Us form if you have not gotten a response within 7 days) .

Step 3:   After you have received confirmation from our Lead Adoption Coordinator, your application will then be forwarded to communicate with one of our Adoption Coordinators.  The Adoption Coordinator is your point of contact during the adoption process.  

Step 4:   Once the Adoption Coordinator has finished processing your application, a volunteer will be selected to contact you to schedule a home visit. Home visits allow us to see where the dog will live, discuss any questions you have and review our adoption contract.

Step 5:   Once the application process is completed, the adoption package goes to the board of directors for a 24 hour review.
