About Calhoun | |
|
|
Calhoun was left in a duplex, in Arkansas, for over two weeks without food or electricity, after his owner moved out. He was left there with four other dogs, all of them living in filth. A previous neighbor caught wind of the woman moving, inquired about the dogs and made the horrible discovery that they had all been left. Calhoun was removed from the home, and brought to The West Memphis Animal Shelter. He was tested with all of the dogs he came in with along with others, and did very well with each of them. He’s also non-reactive with cats.
Calhoun is an energetic 1-2 year old (probably closer to 1) male Rottie . He weighs approximately 85 lbs, and is a little taller than his 100 lb female Rottie foster sister. He gets along with her great! They are like best friends. He has no medical problems, he is on heartworm prevention. He is a happy dog!
Calhoun did not have a lot of training when he came to us, however, since he has been with us, his foster family has taught him to sit and are working on down. He’s crate trained as well as house trained. Calhoun loves to go on long walks and play in the water. He likes to be sprayed from the hose and likes to go to the beach. Tennis balls are his favorite things and he tries to fit as many as he can into his mouth.
If you are looking for a very handsome boy who is cat and dog friendly then Calhoun is your guy!
