About Penzy | |
My name is Penzy, and I am just as cute and sweet as can be (according to my foster mom and dad) even though I had a rough start to life. I was found in the Fort Worth, TX shelter and was on the list to be euthanized when at the last minute I was saved by the nice people at SSRR! Right now I am living with my foster mom and dad and their two boys who are 8 and 11. I also have two canine brothers who I love to try and play with, though they don't indulge me as much as I'd like!
More about me: I am a big girl at 78 pounds, but the vet says that I shouldn't gain more than five more pounds, so I can keep my girlish figure. When I was rescued from the shelter, I had a horrible case of non-contagious mange, but I am healing nicely and my fur is beginning to grow back. My foster mommy says I am going be be quite a beautiful girl once all my fur comes back in. Right now, all I care about is having fun! I love to play with my ball, and I'm really fast and love to run outside in the yard. I'm also in love with taking walks. My foster mom says I'm really good on a leash. The other thing I like to do is follow my foster mom from room to room. I like to always know where she is because I love giving affection--both hugs and kisses! Though I am a bit bigger than my canine foster brothers, I am very good at showing them I am submissive and just want to play. Though I am young and have some moments of puppy energy, I am actually a pretty mellow girl. I like to watch my foster mom cook dinner or just hang out with the family when they watch TV. Of course, if I don't get my daily walk I get a little restless, but who can blame me? I'm a young girl! I also ride in the car well, am house broken, and have no problem being in my crate when necessary. I think I would like to have a little more training, but I do know sit and down. I'm working on my manners because my foster mom says they're important, but sometimes I get excited and forget that I can't jump up and give them a hug or do something they call "mouthing". I am a fast learner though and have heard my foster mom and dad say over and over how I will make the best family dog ever.
