Hi, my name is Chief. I am almost a year old and am just a big love bug. I love playing with my foster brother and getting pets from my foster family. They found me running down a highway and took me home so I’d be safe. They are teaching me some tricks, like Down and Leave It, which is easy because I’m so smart and love getting treats (I am very food motivated).
Right now, I weigh just over 100 pounds but I think I will get a little bigger before I am all grown up. I have lots of energy and would like to adopt a human that will keep teaching me how to be a good boy and take me places with them. I get along with other dogs, although sometimes they don’t like how big I am or how excited I am to meet them. I don’t think I’ve met a cat before.
My foster mom says that I have an extremely high level of energy. I'm not sure what she means by that but I do like to have fun! I would never try to hurt anyone but I might inadvertently cause harm to a small child if they aren't supervised. Foster mom says I'm a big, hyper love bug who doesn't understand his size and strength but I know I'm Chief. She thinks a household with small children might not allow me to have the success we want for me.
Will you please give me a chance to show how much love I have to give?
