Neo has an impeccable temperament. He's a very happy go lucky guy that requires little exercise. All he desires is to be with people. He's very loving and affectionate. He has not been around kids but we have no reason to doubt that he would do well with them. However, he would most likely grab anything edible that a small child might be holding.

Neo is very responsive to his name, and so far has always come when called. Although, it may take a second when he’s chasing a squirrel up a tree. He is currently learning basic obedience commands and not to counter surf. He is both crate and house broken and hasn’t chewed anything in the house that isn’t his. Neo knows to "wait" when you open the crate door (as long as you stand in front of him) until you say "ok". He is learning to walk on a lead and not to pull. When he does pull a simple and "wait" command will get him focused and he will release tension on the lead. He's picking this up pretty well.

Neo eats his meals at a good pace but wants to snatch treats at times. He’s been taught that when a closed hand is presented and told to be "easy", he will wait until the hand opens. He may still want to grab the treat but never uses teeth. He will get it with his tongue and may leave your hand a bit slimy. Neo likes to carry his toys around in his mouth. His favorites are a Nylabone and a knuckle bone. He's totally non dog aggressive.

Neo doesn't feel completely comfortable around dogs yet. He has some scars on his face, which may be indicative of having been in a fight. It took him a couple of days to trust his foster sister. Once he realized she wasn't pushy, or going to hurt him and that he was safe in his crate, he became comfortable with her. A short time later he was okay with her when not crated. We believe he would be fine with dogs that are laid back like her but will not do so well with hyper or alpha type dogs. He does well with dogs that will let him initiate play (which he isn't really interested in too often) and that are around his size. He is really wary of the larger dogs. He never acted out, but he wouldn't leave his foster mom’s side either.
