About Teddy | |
|
|
Teddy was picked up as a stray but no one came to claim him. He was obviously someone's pet as he was very obese and knows basic commands. Teddy has been on a diet and is down to a svelte 112 pounds now! He has more energy now but still prefers to just hang out quietly in the same room as you. He gets very upset when he is alone.
Teddy is friendly towards other animals but does not want to play or be bothered. He does like their company as long as they know their place. Teddy loves children. He was very depressed when he first came however the first time he saw our kids was his first nub waggle.
Teddy was also fed table scraps and loves to park himself in the kitchen while you cook and do the dishes. He has a very gentle mouth for a big boy that loves to eat.
Teddy is protective of his people. He walks right next to my daughter on his short walks and doesn't like it if he thinks there is a physical situation going on. For example, he would be upset if people/kids were rough housing or tickling each other.
Teddy also needs a slow introduction to men. He loves his foster dad but is wary of men coming into our home. Teddy does not enjoy being outdoors or riding in the car. Quarantine life has been just perfect for Teddy's personality. He loves having everyone home all the time!
Teddy is undergoing treatment for heartworms and is on medication for his thyroid.
Teddy is a gentle giant however he does need someone with experience with the breed and a more quiet home environment.
