About Bobo | |
|
|
Bobo is a goofy dog who loves to play fetch and LOVES attention, despite having had a pretty rough past, spending several months chained to a dog house in a back yard. Before coming to SSRR, Bobo also endured years of a painful eye condition (entropion) as well as being heartworm positive.
In his first weeks of being in the care of SSRR, Bobo was neutered and had his eye condition corrected. He is now a much happier dog who can more easily see to play fetch.
Bobo still has a ways to go but he's got the basics down! He will sit, lay down, and shake/give paw on command. He's still working on refreshing other manners like walking nicely on a leash, drop it/leave it and to go in his crate on command.
Loving attention, Bobo had no concept of personal space. Sounds endearing that he would try to jump in your lap for some head rubs but, at 100 pounds, it can be a bit much. He was quite the jumper at first, but he's learning he gets far more attention when he sits and doesn't have to be told to get "down".
Bobo would do best in a home with no small children, as he still doesn't have a great understanding of his big size. He also can't handle cats yet, as friends anyway. Because of his surgeries and healing, Bobo has not yet been introduced to other dogs. Although it was mentioned he had no issues with other dogs when he was younger, it's not fully known how we would fair with dogs currently.
Bobo still has to complete his heartworm treatment, but he is well on his way to be a great dog.
