Jade was picked up as a stray in Isle of Wight County, VA. The shelter staff fell in love with her and reached out to SSRR for help to save her. Due to her being starved the vet has recommended for her to gain some weight before she is spayed, which means she will not be able to be officially adopted until then. We are hoping for the beginning of July.
Jade enjoys going for walks and will carry a small backpack. She walks well on the leash and enjoys exploring. Jade likes chasing the ball but is not always willing to return it. I think she figures the humans keep throwing it away and we don't deserve to have it back. She enjoys a variety of chew toys and takes very good care of them. She will pick them up and place them in her crate for safe keeping.
Jade is crate trained and finds it to be her safe space. If the door is left open she will go in on her own and lay down, if you are nearby.
Right now Jade is living with a foster Rottie brother and a medium size senior pup. Jade is learning to trust humans.
We don't
believe humans have been very good to her in her past. She loves to be loved on and likes to be close by, on occasion likes to lay on the sofa with you.
Jade knows sit, down and is working on learning boundaries and limitations. Jade is looking for someone to help build her self -confidence and give her safe space. She would thrive in a semi-calm environment.
