Imagine living life outside, connected to a chain;

Imagine being wanted only to produce puppies;

Imagine watching a family from the yard, but never being part of the family who lived in that house;

Imagine not being fed regularly, sometimes eating rocks & sticks;

Imagine not knowing what toys are, nor understanding how to play;

Imagine not knowing a gentle touch from a human; instead, only being touched in anger and to inflict pain;

Imagine not even knowing her name because no one ever talked to her;

Imagine being taken to a kill shelter, when no longer needed to provide puppies for her owner to sell….

The shelter staff reached out to SSRR, hoping to save her. Although she was scared, they could tell that she really wanted attention from humans.  But, it was obvious she had not been treated well by humans. She was emaciated, withdrawn, and fearful.

But that was then, and this is now; she has left her past behind and her history will not be her future!!

Kiah began her new life with her new name, healthy food, comfy living quarters, and an introduction to toys and playing. After getting adjusted to her new home, she was enrolled in Doggy Day Care to interact with new dogs and new people, making friends with both species. Check out Kiah having fun in the pool with some of her buddies.

Kiah is now ready for her forever home. She is housebroken and crate trained. She is spayed, has finished heartworm treatment, and is up to date on all vaccines. Kiah is still shy when meeting strangers, but warms up quickly. She is very much a companion type of dog, preferring to hang out with her people; yet, she has no separation anxiety when left alone.

Kiah’s second chance at life began with her foster mom, who loves her very much. She is waiting for her very own family to continue her journey.  One thing is for certain, this doe-eyed beauty will melt your heart.
